So now that classes have begun I'm way busier and ACTUALLY have lots of homework. Ugh. :/ Haha. But nonetheless, they are going pretty smoothly. M-F I have my SP400 Writing Seminar from 12:30-2:15 pm and M-Th I have my LT375 Literature class from 2:30-4pm. The Literature class is a little boring so far and is a lot of reading but is pretty standard. The teacher for the writing seminar is really cool and he keeps the class very interactive and therefore more interesting.
Tonight we had a "Spanish Language House" dinner with all my roommates, our RA Laura, the boys and their RA, and an IES lady Olga. The boys hosted the dinner party and their RA Pau cooked for us. The food was really great: some sort of paella dish, manchengo cheese, tomato/olive oil bread, ham (for everyone else), olives (not for me either), and more. It was actually a lot of fun and we actually only spoke in Spanish. I hope we start following the rules in order for me to become fluent I'm going to have to continually speak "Castellano" (what they call the Spanish language here).
Tomorrow morning I'm going to get up earlier and meet Daniel and Daniela (yes, we are the 3Ds) at la Segrada Familia which is Gaudí's church - which Dad just loves oh so much. They both have a 9am class and then have a long break so they've been exploring in between class and I don't want to miss out. So I'm going to meet them there before my class at 12:30. I can't wait to see it! It's supposed to be lit beautifully at night, so we'll have to make a second trip.
I e-mailed Ricardo Bofill back so hopefully I'll get some sort of response about a possible tour of his firm. How exciting! I need to spend Uncle Larry - my manager - a thank you e-mail once again.
It's getting late and I still have some homework to finish up so I should get going. Buenas noches. Love you all and wish you were here. Adios.
Love,
Danielle
